Grey Fleet Business Insurance

Traditionally, employees using their own cars for work have been responsible for providing insurance cover for their employer’s business.  Line managers and staff within payroll have been responsible for checking insurance certificates and agreeing that adequate cover is in place.  We have found no evidence of any training or any procedures to assist staff in checking insurance documents.  Once the driver is given approval the employer will be deemed liable for all claims that are not met by the employee’s insurer.
